Breast Revision with Implant Exchange and Reconstruction of Inframammary Fold
This 24 year-old female previously underwent bilateral submuscular saline breast augmentation several years ago. The implants were very large for her frame. The resulting pressure of the implant on the inframammary fold caused a “bottoming-out” deformity which creates an appearance of the nipples being distorted upward. She desired a smaller cup size from “D” to a large “C” cup. The implants were removed and the inframammary fold was reconstructed with STRATTICE™ Reconstructive Tissue Matrix. MENTOR® MemoryGel™ Smooth, Round, Moderate Profile Plus (325cc) silicone implants were then placed. The postoperative result at 1 year shows a beautiful, aesthetic shape to the breast with the implant now sitting in a more natural position on the chest wall.
